Nixon Men's Surf & Tide Watch FAQs

Are Nixon surf watches water-resistant?

Yep! All of the men's surf watches featured in this collection are water-resistant. What would a surf watch be if it couldn't withstand waves of water? The amount of water resistance you get with each watch model may vary, though. Look for the ATM rating on the watch product page to see how it's rated. 10 ATM, for example, means that the surf watch can withstand 100 meters of water pressure.

Can salt water damage a Nixon surf watch?

Salt water can potentially cause damage if it penetrates the watch case and gets to the internal mechanisms of a digital surf watch. But we've built all of the surf watches in this collection to keep that water out. After each exposure to ocean water, it's important that you rinse your watch with fresh water to help maintain its life.

Is there anything I can do to care for my Nixon surf watch?

Yep! There are a few things you can do, like rinsing your surf watch with fresh water after each use. For more tips, check out our recommendations for surf watch care.
